Has Abrams even officially endorsed Biden, I happen to remember her being very close to Bloomberg when he was surging. She just seems opportunistic, I definitely think she passed up running for Senate because she thought she had better chance to be VP.

I think the fact CCM doesn't speak Spanish just takes away whatever benefit she'd supposedly provide with Latino voters. I think a Hispanic VP would have an impact if they could go on Telemundo/Univision and be visible & also hold Spanish only rallies in Hialeah/Miami. CCM being only fluent in English just can't do that.

I was wondering what would the VP's spouse be referred as? Second Gentleman same as Second Lady or First Gentleman since they'd literally be first man in that role.

Has anyone thought about Tulsi Gabbard for VP? Popular among Republicans, woman of color, great biography. I know she’s not liked by a lot of the party, but isn’t that kind of the point? She would bring the other side in without alienating the base.
The base, and I mean the volunteer base of the Democratic Party who will GOTV are Black women. We need to cater to them not weak kneed Republicans. Screw Tulsi.

We actually don’t need to cater to them. They got their choice of nominee already. Throw a bone to another important part of the party so we can have a united front.
Hmm. Biden won white voters in the Midwest and I’ve seen folks be persistent that it be a folksy, authentic, aw shucks, gee golly wow white woman from Winnetka, Minnesota so....

Kamala has experience turning out and serving constituencies of Black, AAPI, and Latino* people (*votes Biden struggled w/ in some states). Kamala should be the pick.

I’m pretty anti-VP Klobuchar as well. Biden occupies the “working-class Moderate” lane already, no need to double down on that with the running-mate selection.

He needs to throw a bone to the progressives who feel shut out of the process by Biden and whoever he might pick to “succeed him”. That means a Tammy Baldwin or Liz Warren.

And Kamala’s electoral record is pretty unremarkable, running behind Jerry Brown in both her elections to AG. That’s not to say Warren’s is, but I’m not holding her’s up as why she should be the pick.

Where are people basing this from her '16 race against another Democrat? Or in '14 when she ran behind Brown? Her '16 race just doesn't factor for me when I look at her electoral record.

Something like this could definitely trip up Bottoms. Its not like medical bills or student debt, not being able to pay your water bill when you're a public official is a red flag.

If we are talking about Karen Bass then why not Terri Sewell or Gwen Moore? If you are gonna choose someone from the House (which I'm not a fan of at all) then mind as well broaden your options.

Biden is considering Bass because he wants someone who won't overshadow him and not an obvious successor for 2024. Even if he doesn't make it until '24, Bass would more likely only be a caretaker Prez than run.

She's also been running in a safe seat most of her career her district is D+40. When was the last time you think she debated any of her opponents or faced any scrutiny? She does not have experience in winning tough races and I think that matters she could easily fall apart under the national spotlight. That's why I'm down on Rice as well and she'd be an even worst pick having not run for anything ever.
