I know a few academics who have also gone off the deep end.

Eh, grammatically, you're correct. Let the Michigander snowflakes deal with it. Smiley

How do we fix our education system when so many of the professors are insane?  They are out bashing people in antifa garb, teaching gender studies, or denying basic sciences for feelings
Race realism or “human biodiversity” is not a science.
Where did he say that?

College professors are not irresponsible.

Many colleges and universities have removed tenure tracks. What usually happened was that a professor who was no longer up to the job or could teach something in which he was expert but had no educational market (let us say the design of mainframe computers) was put out to pasture while getting a paycheck.

College students have informal guides that warn about cranks and other unfit professors ("He pushes pseudoscience", "she falls asleep in lectures")

Being a college professor used to be a great job... but there are plenty of "lecturers", "visiting professors" and "adjunct professors" who are simply paid badly. They make about as much as substitute school teachers in K-12 education.

lol, no. That depends on the institution and field. A lecturer in finance or law at a reputable school will not be paid substitute teacher salaries. An adjunct in English at a community college, maybe. And literally nobody goes into academia for the money. The higher-paid fields have to pay their faculty more because they could earn way more in the private sector. Also, tenure has never had anything to do with professors not being "up to the job".
