This is a fantastic bill. As a heavy drinker, I support forcing booze on all our citizens.

Would reducing the age to sixteen negatively impact anything? I'm all for encouraging drinking, but from a public safety standpoint, I have some concerns.

Does this forbid public smoking bans? I support banning dry counties, but I also think public areas should be allowed to ban public smoking for public safety reasons.

You're free to do what you want with your body, but if you're doing it in public, you can affect others too, and you can't avoid second hand smoke, etc.

Anyway we can redraft this to allow for public smoking bans? I favor the gist of this bill for public safety reasons, but if we also outlaw public smoking bans, we really are being counterproductive.

I don't interpret the bill to prohibit public smoking bans.

I would certainly accept a redraft clarifying that position.

It just doesn't clarify. I support forbidding counties from banning the sale of alcohol/tobacco/whatever because people will just go elsewhere to get them and drive under the influence, but I want to make sure we still allow public places to be smoke free.

Since it's so unclear, let's add a provision in it.

Did this already pass?

I'm not sure I like the wording, but I hope it encompasses my main gist of allowing public smoking bans to continue for the sake of public health and safety.

The minimum sentences are back. I like how Tyrion is dancing around the amendment. Dance, my boy! Tongue

I think a fine for selling to a minor is fine, but putting them in jail?

Is there jail time under our current drug laws somewhere?

Yeah, that's my question. I thought the whole point of our laws was to avoid needlessly jailing people over drugs. This seems to go back on that slightly. I get that we want to deter people from selling to underage, but I feel like a hefty fine and mark on your criminal record would suffice.

x Duke

This is a great day for all the drunks in this great country; gone are the days where we are forced to drink water or soda because a county has outlawed booze to satisfy their pretentious ways; gone are the days of driving drunk to neighboring counties to get your fix. I want to thank all of you who made this possible.

Cheers!
