Barnes and I share very similar ideas. Strange considering our avatars are opposites.. Tongue

Great minds...

That may work, but the GM being solely a delegate job seems a bit crazy if you want consistency in the stories it produces. It'll be all over the place if we have 15 different posters making stories up.

Well, I had to throw some idea so the discussion and finding for a solution can begin. I'm glad you reacted, Duke Smiley

Foreign affairs are really neglected and even if we won't create any DGM to handle this, we should find the way to ensure GM won't neglect this.

I might as well help make the campaign interesting you know.. Wink

Anyway, this idea is worth examining as a possible solution to the GM problem post PS (and pre-PS for a while), but we need to be cautious as always. I think we should first see how Badger does, since I think he'll do a wonderful job, and go from there should he falter.

I have high hopes for Badger, but historically we had problems with GM activity. Take Al, one of the finest Atlasians of all times just failed here.

So, beside seeing Badger's performance, we should think about a solution to improve things.

Al's failure really wasn't a surprise though. He hasn't been serious about this game for quite a while. It should come as a shock to no one that he failed. But you're right, outside of PS (and Brandon to a lesser extent), I can't really remember a GM that did very much.

I was hoping to see some people retained from the PS administration, but oh well.

Yeah, I probably would have liked to see Ben Constine stay on as SOEA, but Hashemite is a wonderful choice nonetheless.

Yeah, me too. Ben's done a good job, but I guess they have other plans.

That probably wasn't the way you should have answered that, Kal. Tongue

Guys, not a single member of the POP or of the RPP applied for a cabinet position with me, except for Teddy who has been retained.  So all of this whining about the lack of bi-partisanship is a little moot.

The decision of who to appoint as SOEA was a difficult one.  Both Ben and Hashemite have prior experience in the position, and both have done good work during their tenure.  In the end, I had to pick one of them, and I felt that Hashemite presented to me a more compelling argument for his appointment.

Regarding Afleitch, he did not indicate to me that he even wanted to be re-appointed.

I was unaware current cabinet members had to reapply for the position. If you wanted to keep them on, I assume you could've simply asked them if they would continue their service.

This was the line I was more concerned about. You're certainly allowed to defend your position. This is hardly a coordinated attack though Tongue

Right now I'm working on a project of foreign policy reform, that I hope can be later embraces by President and become a part of our agenda, and then we'd need SoEA, who'd do something more beside: "comunique, bla, bla, Iran is bad, bla, look how dedicated and hardworking I am, bla".
