Speaker Johnson still blocking Ukraine aid over border bill, despite Senate GOP pressure

It's very easy to understand this entire situation when you know that the GOP is clearly not going to do anything on this issue in an election year.

 GOP doesn't want to solve immigration, if they did what would they scaremonger about? We already saw the politcal fallout from them actually achieving their abortion rhetoric into legislation and court rulings.

Their leading figures don't want to solve any problems, especially on the far-right. They ousted McCarthy for not immediately shutting down the entire government and cause severe economic shockwaves.

It’s actually amazing how House Republicans likely are going to kill the best immigration deal they’ll ever get (even better than anything in a post-Trump win world) just to keep it as an election issue and pander to the Putin simp caucus

I just hope Biden's team is going to cut a bunch of great ads on that.

They should also point out that Trump has failed to actually solve the issue because he didn't take Schumer's offer for more border security funding in exchange for a legislative solution on DACA (both measures are popular).

They're also using the border as an excuse not to pass more aid for Ukraine. They want to do Putin a favor and embarrass Biden in the world stage. The Democrats should also attack them as un-American to side with a former KGB agent over their own president just because he's a Democrat.

House Republicans should just be honest at this point that they have zero desire to actually solve problems or do something about the border because they need it as campaign issue. Biden needs to call them out forcefully. It's not a serious governing party at all.
