I don't understand this forum's dislike for Wilson. He was a better president because he left his country better than he found it. However, Nixon was a better president than most people would rate him. Too bad that he was paranoia, because without Watergate and other illegal actions, he was a pretty good president.

People tend to forget the good things Nixon actually accomplished. He governed as a liberal. Founded EPA, protection of environment in general, pro civil-rights and detente. I wish we had a Republican president like Tricky Dick again.

Which magazine and which Republican Some Republicans of the past are indeed good choices for progressives.

LOL no. I mean on the political spectrum like Nixon. He was definitely not a staunch conservative and even liberal on several issues. I would prefer a pragmatic progressive Democrat of course, but a Republican like Nixon is better than Trump, Cruz or Rubio.
