I rarely become enamoured with politicians to the point I bother to follow them, but I can't get enough of Brian Schweitzer. Here is a 2004 interview with him:
http://spurstalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13925He does avoid social issues like the plague (he says Montana won't go for gay marriage, but makes it clear that it isn't necessarly
his personal position) but other than that I'm surprised about how honestly he talks.
He doesn't suck up to his state - he calls it a "flyover zone," even implying that Bush won mainly because he had an R by his name and that 85% of Montanans would believe that John Kerry married a guy.
He talks like a populist (in the non-bastardised sense) but doesn't dumb himself down. I can see why he's so popular in Montana.
