Just voted in NJ after work. Went for Menendez's opponent (even though it's futile
), Mikie Sherrill, the county-endorsed candidates for Freeholder, the one candidate for county committeewoman and wrote myself in for county committeeman since no candidate filed (each district within a ward elects both a male and female member, at least in Morris County). I did it just to see if I'd win off my own write-in again, but if I do I'll decline since I'm very busy this summer and then I'll be back at school.
As for turnout, if this was the after-work rush, then there must've been tumbleweeds the rest of the day. I believe my slip indicated I was the 34th voter in the Dem primary (at 6pm!) so if that's the case we're heading for pathetic turnout, although my polling station is very affluent and white so there were probably more voting on the Republican side. Side note, I ran into an old classmate I haven't seen since middle school while there. Love it when democracy brings us together!
