I think the odds are high the Senate doesn't even take it up for trial.
Bad idea. They essentially have a constitutional duty to do so.

What they should do is have Harris gavel them in, have her make a motion to immediately hold a vote on guilt, pass that motion, and then immediately hold the vote to acquit him and be done in an hour.

Basically what I advised to do!

Probably actually the dumbest thing about MTG being a manager is she's not even a lawyer, although looking at the full list it looks like only about half of them were...showing how much of a farce of a trial this was going to be. And yes there's no Constitutional requirement than an impeachment manager be a lawyer but there also technically isn't one to sit on the SCOTUS or any federal judgeship.

The Republicans almost did in the first Trump impeachment, they didn't dismiss the charges but voted to go right to voting on guilt and bypassed even hearing witnesses.

They couldn't in the second because they didn't control the Senate, and of course some Republican Senators voted to convict.
