Anyone have Hobbs-Lake by legislative district? Hobbs probably won a majority since she dominated among swing white moderates. Lake seems to have retained most of the Trump 2020 hispanic shift. Kelly did noticeably better than Biden in hispanic precincts.

Probably not going to be released until counting is completely done.

I believe one would be elected in the 2026 election, and I think the proposal made it so they are elected on the same ticket and that the Lieutenant Governor is a staff member in the governors office (such as chief of staff).

But unless the ballot measure specifically didn't create the office until after 2026 then it's technically vacant now (well not now but when the next term starts) and would have to be filled as such vacancies are set to (such as if the LG resigns without being promoted to Governor.)

I'm assuming that Lake is full of sh!t here. Certification is usually pretty final...examples of elections that took so long to resolve (like FL 2000 and MN-SEN 2008) were actually examples of delayed certification, and that House race in North Carolina in 2018 was actually never certified. I don't know of the last time certifications has ever been reversed for any election, and it wouldn't surprise me if it's never occured in the 21st century.

That's actually not true. In most states, you can't challenge until after certification.

Then in most states challenging (at least the way she intends to) is pretty much impossible because I don't know the last time a certified election was overturned. It had to be a LONG time ago (or very low profile.)

So the AG recount is underway right now?

So.... has that happened or not??

Not yet.  Even though the recount is automatic, there are some silly bureaucratic hoops they have to jump through.  The SoS is required to petition the Maricopa County Superior Court to order the recounts in the races within 0.5% margin (AG, Superintendent, and LD 13).  That petition was filed yesterday evening after the certification was complete.  Counties have until 5pm Dec. 21 to certify their recount results, and they cannot release numbers, including daily vote totals, until they’ve been certified by the court.

So basically we'll get no updates until it's done and then just get told the final recount result?

Was that judge a right or left-leaning one? Just a for fun question. Their lawsuits are so baseless and poorly preparated, even most conservative judges flat out dismiss them. Trump got 60 of them thrown out.

Can someone give me the rundown?

The recount has been completed and all counties have submitted their results, however the results can not be publicly released until it's been certified by the Arizona Supreme Court. But the hearing on that is scheduled to begin in just about 20 minutes. So we may get the results today.

Even when Al Franken beat Norm Coleman, it was by 312.
