Say what you will about Trump, but border security and illegal immigration are issues that will ultimately require a final solution. Such a final solution can only come through a more comprehensive immigration reform bill.

A while ago there was a diary on Daily Kos saying basically she's disqualified for calling on Franken to resign. The Democrats are such a disgustingly hypocritical party. Most of them wanted Franken gone yet Gillibrand is the one thrown under the bus for the sole reason that she is actually a true believer on this stuff and wasn't just following the crowd. I never want to hear a Democrat complaining about Trump's pussy grabbing comments again.

    Just out of political curiosity I would love to see some college town like Madison or Ames or Berkeley hold a city wide referendum on something like a city wide white privilege tax that only whites would have to pay, with proceeds used to fund some type of reparations.

I'm almost certain Berkeley, Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Madison, Minneapolis, Ann Arbor, etc. would all vote for that.

by voting people out like Lincoln Davis, Ike Skelton, Joe Donnelly, Mark Pryor etc? I viewed those types of people as the "good cop" democrats while someone like Gillibrand or Harris is the "bad cop" democrats. Take the person that votes with your interests 80% of the time instead of the person that votes with your interests 30% of the time. Unless you really just want to see ideological posturing without any meaningful blowback (which, granted, you can argue that many Republicans want) from a powerless minority perch there's no rational reason to vote for a compromise candidate over a candidate you align more with.

well its like - Georgia democrats were historically (post-jim crow of course) sane. Joe Frank Harris, Sam Nunn, even Wyche Fowler. Once Georgia stopped electing those types of democrats, it created a void that was filled by people like Abrams, who want a Zimbabwe style confiscatory state. If the state eventually starts voting for democrats again, I'm pretty sure the gop voters will regret not supporting those types of democrats as they would have been able to hold the Abrams types in check.

In many respects, Israel is actually worse than apartheid. For one, Israel is actively carrying out an ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian population in their native territory. Even the Nationalists and South Africa were just content to maintain white supremacy in political power without actually displacing the black population.

The trolling about Hawaii has to stop. MB, BRTD, PSOL, and jk2020's insistence that Neil Abercrombie and Collen Hanabusa are unbeatable titans has to stop. Hanabusa could not even beat David Ige in a primary, even though he had negative approvals for much of the campaign. Also Abercrombie was unceremoniously ousted from the governor's mansion during a primary, he lost to David Ige. Ige is clearly above these two, and is still obviously a terrible politician. Also, the Hawaii monarchy was basically controlled by whites and Queen Lili'uokalini and King Kalakua, had basically lost all power and the Dole planters basically were the de-facto rulers. But, corporations really don't have much power in HI as they do in other states **cough** **cough** Michigan **cough** **cough** New Jersey. Then we have to consider would Hawaii willingly give up its Democratic system for an unelected system, in which white plantation owners exploit the population, the obvious answer is moot.
