What's crazy is there are posters who I otherwise like who view Gabbard as the best possible 2020 candidate.
As far as I can tell, people on this forum are literally the only ones who think that.

The Facebook group pushing her 2020 presidential candidacy actually has 26,000 members:

https://www.facebook.com/groups/1273065276040925/

That's less people than who voted for Martin O'Malley in Florida.

Hell to put things in perspective, Rocky de la Fuente received more votes than that...in both the primary and general election.

The 2020 election will be a choice between a Putin agent and a Bashar Assad/Modi agent.

...or maybe it's possible that there might actually be relevant issues besides who the candidate endorsed in 2016. DailyKos was a pretty pro-Sanders site and they hate Tulsi as much as they hated Joe Lieberman in 2006.

Who exactly? The only people here I see who tout her as such are:

-Blue avatars and open Trump supporters.
-Fairly banal red avatars with triple digit post counts who mostly just quote empty #analysis about as insightful as your average Kingpoleon post.
-True Leftist boneheads who are about as progressive as Michael Tracey or H.A. Goodman.

Yes there will be such issues, and Tulsi will "be" on the right side of all of them, because she's the type of instinctive politician that does that sort of thing. Believe me, she is the frontrunner.

"Believe you" like you said that Sarah Palin was essentially guaranteed to be the 2012 GOP nominee and that Sanders was the frontrunner who'd carry New York last year? Sure.

Looks like she's also a supporter of al-Sisi: https://twitter.com/LeanOnAndLead/status/849055820906024960/

... Oh no! BRTD isn't popular with "fairly banal red avatars with triple digit post counts"! He better lash out at me lest he look weak.

The key to winning in California: Run a prominent former Bush Administration official!

Rice would gather a strong coalition of ~65% of whites, 40% of blacks, and about ~45-50% of Hispanics. I wish she would run. Newsom and Brown are too strong for her to beat them.

Jesus all the outrage over this?!? The evidence hasn't even come out yet that the Syrian government did the recent chemical attack but being cautious and waiting for the evidence to come out is reason for her to be kicked out of office?! This is goddamn insane!! It's obvious they are using this as an excuse to kick her out of Congress over her criticism over the DNC.

Well gee, maybe she could make it less easy to draw ire against her by not doing things like coddling Hindutva fascists or going to personally meet Assad and have that trip be funded by an anti-Semitic Middle Eastern fascist group.

You guys realize there are other members of Congress who endorsed Sanders? And no one's talking about getting rid of them.

I don't recall anyone calling for a primary challenge to Raśl Grijalva.

It's kind of surreal how some people are not able to distinguish the difference between "Oppose military intervention in Syria" and "Spout Assad's propaganda, pay him a friendly visit and then lie about how funded it to try to cover up that it was an anti-Semitic fascist group."

Food for thought for anyone who thinks she can milk the Syria strike to win the nomination:

I don't think she's going to win the nomination, but I'm confused about what that poll is supposed to prove.  I'm pretty sure Gabbard agrees that Trump lacks a clear plan for Syria, and the poll shows that a narrow plurality of Dems disapprove of the attack.  So why would Gabbard being staunchly against the attack be a loser for her?

It means that she already has lost 45%. It takes less than 10% of the rest who are either unsure or disapprove of the attack (hmmm, how many people on here are staunchly anti-her and disapprove of the attack? At least 10%?) and then also consider how many of those 48% are black or other type of voters not very inclined to her...her ceiling is pretty low.

Are you dumb or just ignorant? As people learn about the strikes the poll numbers will drop like a rock, this is basically the ceiling for support. If we get into a war it will just be Iraq all over again. This will not hurt Tulsi, if anything it will backfire on the establishment.

There aren't any ground troops in Syria so rather than be like Iraq this will just fade from memory. Clinton's strikes in Iraq weren't an issue in 2000, not even Ralph Nader brought them up.

That poll shows that a majority approves of the strikes though, and ground forces is a completely different situation and for now just a pure hypothetical.

Also once again is anyone else able to distinguish between opposing intervention and being personally friendly to Assad?

She also voted for a Republican anti-refugee bill.
