Yes. I would favor all US aid and commerce to Ecuador being immediately cut, all US companies banned from doing business there, a ban on Ecuadorian citizens from entering the country and the immediate deportation of all Ecuadorian nationals.

No offense, but are you on something?

Anger. I am so angry at that rapist Assange and that terrible, disgusting POS government that harbors that monster.

So we should punish all of their citizens because of that?

We could make exceptions if they're anti-government dissidents.

Bringing a rapist to justice is a liberal action.

But I thought BRTD loves Latin American leftist governments (which are relatively democratic).

Assange is obviously not leftist, as he's supporting Trump and is a Putin puppet. He's therefore right-wing. And thus all other governments that support are right-wing as well.

As someone with Ecuadorian family members and who knows a number of Ecuadorians and Ecuadorian-Americans, I find this pretty offensive.

I also love how in BRTD logic, banning Muslims from the US because of terrorism is bad...but banning Ecuadorians because of one man is just dandy.

Here's a suggestion.  How about we don't ban religions or nationalities from the US.  Kthx.

What do you propose be done about Assange then?

Despicable post, particularly your nonchalant reference to a racist deportation scheme.

I say outlandish things in anger. The post above this one probably has the right idea.

That one only makes the US look petty and impotent. It will only increase Correa's popularity as he's standing up - and winning - to Yankee imperialism.

Besides, I doubt BRTD really wants the US to be in the same company as the USSR, People's Republic of China, Taliban Afghanistan, or South American military dictatorships in confining people to embassies for years.

The UK and Sweden are doing that, not the US. And it's not on trumped up political charges.

The release of these charges seem rather suspiciously timed. The more suave of dictatorships, instead of prosecuting dissidents for obviously political matters like subversion or treason, use more common charges instead (see Putin's opponents getting suspiciously timed tax audits, Singaporean bloggers getting jailed for inciting religious hatred, Anwar Ibrahim from Malaysia being constantly prosecuted for sodomy, Chinese dissidents put under house arrest for breaching the peace, etc).

It's especially galling because at one point, the British government threatened to storm the embassy Iran-style to arrest him. This is the sort of thing that rallies an entire nation around the government.

Sweden is a dictatorship?

For the record I'd like to renounce my made in sheer rage statements here, especially since it's clear that Assange is utterly harmless at this point and is nothing more than an attention whoring troll, who is only harming the people delusional enough to still pay him attention and buy his stupid book. Even Alex Jones has now called him out as such.
