Yes, it's a racist term. Also, the Cleveland Indians need a new logo.

Naming teams after ethnicities is fine in my books, but you cross the line when you use racial slurs like "Redskins" or racial caricatures as logos (like with the Indians).

If the Redskins adopted a name like "Braves", they could keep the logo and it would be less offensive. The Cleveland Indians should also adopt a more tasteful logo like the Redskins logo or the Chicago Blackhawks logo.

Warriors would be pretty good actually. That was what the local high school on the Reservation where I initially grew up called their sports teams.
