I got work off, but I'm still torn. The facts:

-The total ticket price is over $30.
-There are four bands, three opening ones that are awesome and that I love, and one headliner that I really don't care about.
-That headlining band is the reason it's so expensive, and likely to attract very annoying people. (i.e. high schoolers)
-I've already seen all three opening bands.
-I went to a show with a similar setup last year (good openers, bleh on headliner) and some of the kids who were obviously attracted by the headliner made me want to smash their heads in.
-Lots of my buddies are going anyway.

Sure, you can leave before the headliner if you want.  I'd listen to the music you like and ignore the people that annoy you.

I did that at the mentioned show last year.

One good thing here is that one of the openers is local and huge here, so they might attract more of a crowd and much more tolerable people than NOFX.

Why not take out a lovely lady instead of going to a show?

Pretty much the only people I've ever noticed under this inexplicable delusion that no females go to shows unsurprisingly tend to also be people who have never been to any shows. I mean look at how insanely female-skewed La Dispute's fanbase is for one (I don't think I've ever seen a male wearing one of their shirts in fact.)

I don't go to concerts.

I see girls that look like say the girl from Heartsounds at shows all the time. Indisputably hot.

Note on female attendance emo/hardcore/punk shows: it's certainly very high but is diminished in pictures somewhat by their aversion to mosh. Aka, compared to most musical subcultures it's fairly average.

That is correct. They usually are more clustered near the back of the room and they often drink more (though granted this is no doubt largely due to the fact that they can basically drink for free often.)

Frat boys might do that, but scene guys don't as they reject all forms of reactionary thought and misogyny.

Yes, that's another reason why I hate metal so much.

Well it turns out that Fat Mike from NOFX is really sick, so the show is "postponed". However two of the bands I did want to see are playing another venue later tonight, and it's only $5...and I can get a refund on my $30 ticket...so it really worked out in a way. Of course that also means I took off work for no reason, but not working is not something to complain about.
