1-I'm an old. (by forum standards)
2-I've been part of "the scene" for over a decade.
3-I live in a major city.

BRTD, how much do concert tickets cost where you live?

The ones that I go to range $5-20. I think $17 or $18 is the most I've ever spent (not counting fests obviously.)

Keep in mind a lot of those are just local bands or smaller bands touring with a much bigger one. There are a few shows I've gone just for the openers though.

I have never heard of a single one of BRTD's listed bands...

I've heard of at least 10 of them.

If Disembodied isn't one of them that's quite sad because they wrote the book that so many of your favorite bands rip off: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XgH-sSn7Nz4

Same with Harvest: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IyMJSWMshgY

Twice, once in the summer of 2006, and once last month. Video from the latter.

That's interesting.  Every time I go on Ticketmaster and look for shows, they usually cost a minimum of fifty dollars per person without special seating arrangements or anything else added on.  Though I'll admit I've never heard of most of the bands you listed, so I guess it's just because of name recognition.

Yeah these are way smaller shows. Some of these have literally taken place in people's living rooms and basements. So small that there's no such thing as "special seating arrangements", everyone is standing the whole time (kind of hard to mosh and dance if you're sitting of course, so that'd be no fun.) Like for example here's a video I took at one, you can no doubt tell the part where I got hit.
