I would vote for McCain, no contest. I wouldn't even think twice about it. I'd probably actually vote for about half of the Republicans in the Senate before I'd vote for Zell Miller.

here's my prediction:

yes, DC would actually be a tossup. How bizarre. The question is if blacks would follow party loyalty in this case.

funny, Boss Tweed's map is identical to the 1928 map. However, I doubt Massachusetts and Rhode Island would vote for Zell Miller, since he bashes the Democrats more than Republicans and almost all Democrats outside the south hate him. I can see them going to Nader, but not Miller.

I should also change my map with Utah. Most of the Republicans there are single issue pro-life voters, and since McCain is pro-life they would be willing to vote for him. Virginia is very tough to call, since conservative Democrats are pretty scarce there now. I'd still rank it a toss-up, but going narrowly going to McCain instead.

I would consider someone like John Breaux or Rep. Lincoln Davis a conservative southern Democrat. They at least vote with their party on some issues and don't bash it and call it out of the mainstream, endorse Republicans, and act like total assholes in general. Zell votes with the Republicans as much as Trent Lott does, and trashes anyone who dares to criticize Bush.
