Manassas is hardly a liberal town, and NOVA (outside Alexandria and Arlington) is hardly a liberal region. It (Manassas) is also quite small - the constituency is presumably rather a bit larger.

Well not liberal but certainly not radically socially conservative. I doubt the area around Manassas is either. Just surprising, there are plenty of areas in Virginia prone to elect nutjobs, Manassas doesn't seem like the most likely location.
