Who is Roy Moore?  Any relation to Michael Moore?

He is a former Alabama State Judge who was removed from power because he refused to remove a statue of the ten commandments from the courthouse after federal orders.

He is very unlike Michael Moore, except in the fact they are opposite.

Which begs the question:  who would win is a Presidential showdown between Moore and Moore?  Smiley

As for Roy - no chance in a primary.  Although I think the monument flap wasn't as big a deal as it was made to be, he would really have to tone down the rhetoric in a national campaign.

Sure.  In the last poll I saw (taken after he was removed from the bench), Moore was running neck and neck with the incumbent Republican Riley in a hypothetical 2006 primary.  He also outpolled both Riley and Siegelman in a three-way race.

I'm not sure he would want it, though.  The governor's mansion in Montgomery seems to have become the place where Alabama politicians go to ruin their careers.
