This, though Florida is now somewhat iffy.

Why was Indiana included and not Illinois?  Southern Illinois, especially south of the St.Louis metro area, is as southern as Kentucky.  Silly accents (though dying) and everything.

To be fair, while neither is Southern, Indiana could be more culturally Southern than Illinois since so much of Illinois's population is clustered in the Chicago area.

Here in South Dakota, I was in a minority at my school for not hunting (even in Sioux Falls), and the state is definitely NOT Southern.

Also, Pennsylvania has one of the largest hunting populations of any state.

Virginia politics are very Northern, the only former-Confederate state to vote for Hoover in 1928, one of two such states (Florida was the other) to vote for Nixon in 1960,...

Nope, it was one of five to vote for Hoover.  Tennessee also voted for Nixon.
