Option 2 easily.  I'm not a vegan or even a vegetarian, but vegan meals can sometimes be tasty.

Option 1 means you can't even read or listen to political news or political history, have access to political information, or discuss politics with others.  You must be completely unaware of all political events that occur during the time, and you can't find out about past political information that you don't already know.

That isnt as hard as you think it is.

I could do it if absolutely necessary.  I could also go vegan for a week.
