The beautiful prairies that we have been raised to love is what makes Oklahoma such a wonderful state, Bushie. Many good, friendly people live in Oklahoma, and life goes on peacefully and at ease, not rushed like it may be on the coasts. I'd take our Midwestern way of life any day!

Oklahoma does not completely fit in any major region, but it is culturally far more Southern than Midwestern.  The same is true for Missouri, but to a lesser extent.

There seems to be something about the Okie way of life that sharply contrasts the state with the Plains States further North.  Nebraska is currently ranked as the 15th healthiest state, Kansas the 24th, and Oklahoma the 43rd.

Also, notice that Iowa is the 20th healthiest, and Missouri the 42nd.  There is a very strange pattern here.

Here is another interesting fact about Oklahoma:

Although Obama won almost every US city with more than 400,000 people, he did not even come close to winning Oklahoma City or Tulsa.  If you're conservative, you probably like that about the state.
