Looking at Pennsylvania's margin relative to the national margin:

1928: R+13.93
1932: R+23.27
1936: R+8.22
1940: R+3.06
1944: R+4.71
1948: R+8.49
1952: D+4.97
(still Dem-leaning to this day)

What caused that rapid shift? It trended over 13 points towards the Dems in one election cycle.
