I thought that  Bevin would win but by a very narrow margin.  Did not expect this scale of victory. Wow.

All the GOP now has to do is to pick of MO (a bit hard but likely), VW (likely) and VA (depends on who is the Presidential party in 2017) while keeping NC, then by 2017 the GOP will be in control over every Southern (CSA + VW + KY + MO + OK) Governorship, something the Dems achieved on a regular basis in the 1930s-1960s.  What a dramatic shift.

In reality, this is a red state, so what exactly is so remarkable about Republicans winning? Someone explain that to me.

Federal =/= State. This is only the second GOP governor in 40 years

Ernie Fletcher set the GOP back a decade or two.  But even that affect is wearing off.

Westerfield needs to win about 55% of the remaining votes to win.  Should be able to do it.
