Yeah, I've lived here for two years and I'm still not used to people calling soda "pop".
Back in Elementary School, one of my teachers was from Colorado and called it "pop", or worse "soda-pop", I mean "soda" and "pop" are two completely different things. "Soda" is southwestern and Northeastern (mostly) and "pop" is Midwest, Northwestern and all along the Rust Belt. Honestly I understand Coloradoans calling it "pop", but IMO "soda-pop" is just awful.
