We need like two Dems and we can start. I'm stunned at how many people joined as a Republican Tongue

Given what's presumably going on Vietnam, Johnson, if he ran would be very vulnerable, especially in a general election.

That said, I'm surprised no one has claimed Bobby/Ted Kennedy or Eugene McCarthy yet.

Someone, tell Maniac and President Johnson about this!

You do it. I'm not recruiting for your election game.

I was joking. I'm a jokester sometimes

I wasn't. I'm pretty sure we have posters with those names.

Yeah, we do. I was making a joke because they made TLs about RFK and Johnson

Well, why don't you ask them? You know, the worst that can happen is that they'll say no.

About time we got a Democrat Tears of joy

Now we just need one more (and maybe someone to play as LBJ), and we are set.

That only makes sense if Johnson isn't running. Humphrey wouldn't oppose him in a primary.

Smathers, please. It's been a while since trying one of these games.

Granted. It's an honor to have you playing, Lumine. Smiley

Seconded.

It truly is a pleasure when our esteemed moderator lowers himself to be with the masses.

24 hours left. Reminder to get your schedules, endorsements, and ads sent as well as Ballots

Could I get an extension to Thursday or Friday?

Tonight and Tomorrow are Yom Kippur, and while I could do a schedule tonight, I'm uncomfortable doing so.

As you know, I am a procrastinator, which is why I haven't done a schedule before now.... so I'd also like to request that our turns be subdivided into two week blocks instead of month long blocks.

Nixon specifically challenged Baker to the one on the eighth, and I thought Goldwater already was in the one on the fifteenth.

I would recommend that we include the New Hampshire primary in the next turn

Everyone ok with this? (One day extension will be granted next turn if so)

I'm fine with moving up the New Hampshire Primary to the end of February. Otherwise, it should be a straight two weeks.

If you didn't read my last post, Nixon has suspended his campaign and endorsed Smathers (he's still bitter at his fellow Republicans for leaving him for dead after 1960).

If you, NTP want him to endorse a Republican let me know BEFORE next turn.

It would make more sense for him to endorse a Republican, considering that Nixon was no Turncoat and it would be fair to both sides. The general could change that, though.

Post has been edited, Nixon is now endorsing Chase Smith.

So if LBJ is running after all, than who is playing as LBJ (not that this is a request to play as LBJ in a general election-he'd get massacred, and I'm already preoccupied with several other election games at this time, but it's a good question that needs to be asked).
