Obviously if she had infidelity that's very bad and her fault but this complaint from her husband sounds ridiculous:

It's his wife. As long as no one else was present, why is he complaining? Not that I have a desire to see Joni Ernst naked of course, but he is married to her.

It's refreshing to know I don't disagree with Ernst on everything.

This man is crazy (or so thoroughly dedicated to his affair that seeing his wife naked felt like a betrayal to his girlfriend!)

Well, the behavior that Gail is upset about in the petition apparently occurs after they have privately agreed to divorce but agreed to still share the house in Red Oak (for whatever reason--financial, appearances)  He's saying in his petition that they can no longer share the house because of her behavior.

I saw stories during the time of the housing crash of couples that got divorced and couldn't afford to sell the house (underwater) and they both continued living in the house while separated/divorced.  You would think a US Senator could afford other housing in Red Oak where I'm sure it's relatively affordable, but as we know DC isn't cheap.

There is the possibility that both sides are bringing the crazy on this one.  I've seen it before in what appeared to be normal functioning adults.

Not a good idea at all.  This isn’t like Nevada in 2018 where Heller was already dead meat due to it being Trumps midterm. Ernst is pretty popular in a state where Trump could still very well win.  I see this as more likely to be a Patrick Murphy 2016 sitauation then a Jackie Rosen 2018 situation.

Well she’d probably lose her House seat in the next Republican leaning year anyway. Which should make it much less of a risk to go for Senate. Jared Golden is in a similar situation

Well, redistricting is most likely to make the district all metro Des Moines probably with Story attached, so if she could make it to 2022 it's a pretty safe seat.

Well, if Grandpa keeps losing jobs at the ethanol plant, then no Republican is safe in Iowa.

Ernst was asked on local radio about her declining approval rating and increasing likelihood of a competitive race.

Quote
“Yep, you bet. And no, that’s actually, if you go back, I think Charlie Cook is the one that reported that,” Ernst said. “You know one of his, one of his, you know, studies. So, there are a lot of vulnerable folks out there. And yes, just with changing, shifting demographics in Iowa. Um, you know, that is true. I’ll say that, that is true.”

Since the 2010 census, Iowa is estimated to have gone from 3% black to 4%  and from 4% Hispanic to 5%, so apparently Joni thinks a tidal wave of the browns are taking her down.

If Ernst loses, she should be able to get work as part of the Onion's man-on-the-street segment.

Ernst reported her fundraising for last Q--7.2 million w 4.3m OH.  So Greenfield entered October with twice the COH (9.0m).

I still think Ernst is being underestimated. But.....

She is running an atrocious campaign. This is so embarrassing.

I agree, her atrociousness has been underestimated.

Just a little color to the Ernst soybean fail tonight.  While my Grandpa was the farmer, Grandma was the brains of the outfit (which, if you ever met her would be a little hard to believe).  Everyday at lunch time she had the radio on and would record the noon crop prices (futures and cash) and make notes about weather and crop condition.  Always looking for the best time to sell the crop (or store it).  She had notebook after notebook of this stuff.  Did she  ever figure anything out?  Who knows?  Of course, nowadays you've got computers and you probably hire a specialist to sell your crop (your farm is probably 5-10x bigger now) but they still pour over futures and hedges like people here dissect every poll.
