84 and 76.. 76 was rather "clean" because Carter ran as a "clean" candidate (against Washington) and that was the post watergate election so people were really concerned about corruption, ethics, lawbreaking etc. As for Ford.. well people were already mad he pardoned Nixon so he couldn't appear to be a corrupt pol.

84 was just a boring, in the bag election, and Reagan was always his "morning in America' self, Mondale was hapless.

1984. Mondale was a nice guy and Reagan didnt exactly have to play hardball to win Wink.
