No, it's only scarier now because we see what was going on inside Iraq for the past decade.  People were being rounded up and killed for non-crimes while hundreds of thousands were being slaughtered for being in the wrong tribes.  Of course, if you would rather have a mass murderer in control of an oppressive dictatorship rather than a free nation, by all means . . .

Why on earth should we care about that?

In any case, of cousre it wasn't 'worth it', though 1) this wasn't justice, but just murder of one thug by other thugs, and 2) the purpose of the war was to transfer vast sums from the public treasury to Bush's political supporters.

Remember who is responsible for the problems in Iraq.

Those who control the empire are responsible, Hutner - the american owning class.

But the list of their victims is so long that there is no reason to make a particular fuss over this one destroyed nation.
