No. Cynicisim is just an upleasant way of telling the truth. Do I agree with Opebo here though?... No.

Cynicism is a way of being negative; it just so happens to be that those who are cynical also tend to care about things that contain a lot of negativity, so they turn out to be right more often than not.

Well, politics does contain a lot of negativity.  But I'll admit I was overly harsh - its just that american politics is so right-wing, even the Democrats.
