Good decision. Nuking China would have been bad.

Freedom decision:

1. Nuking China and starting WW3 is a bad idea (obviously)
2. Truman was the commander in chief and MacArthur shouldn't had publicly undermined Truman's policies
3. I like Truman and am a bit biased

Freedom Decision, both as a matter of principle (the civil power over the military) and a matter of policy (as previously mentioned, using nuclear weapons against China was and is a really bad a idea).

In addition to all that, MacArthur was just nutty in general, which is not the greatest trait in a military leader when the war isn't a fight for the nation's life.

Not a great decision.  MacArthur wasn't a terrible general, and should have been kept on active duty.

This. That being said, I also like MacArthur, but the President's word is final.

Freedom decision.

A truely couragious move by Harry Truman, who was never afraid of making such decisions. MacArthur was a disloyal and self-loving fool who thought he is above the president and risk World War III. President Truman thought him otherwise.
