You're getting polls for the Senate race because of the novelty value of Greene's candidacy. If Rawl were the Dem nominee, the race wouldn't be polled. I'll even go so far as to say that Greene is a superior candidate to Rawl, for the simple reason that he will get the vast majority of the protest/joke votes, which otherwise would have gone either to DeMint, write-ins, or third parties.

Probably not that great of a poll, but still, it's pretty clear that Rawl was quite a bit more electable.

Those cross tabs are incredible too.  DeMint is getting almost 80% of the White vote and about 20% of the Black vote.  If this stays (which is almost certainly will not, undecideds are going to break for Green), DeMint might just carry every county in the state outside of 70% Black Allendale

Even if he was (which there is no evidence of at all), there was no ads, no campaigning, no fundraising. Nothing. Greene is the candidate not because the evil GOP screwed with the election, he is because 100,000 Democrats chose to let the alphabet decide who they voted for.

Um No.  Look at the crosstabs:  it says 51% of Black support Green, with 32% more undecided.  Unless there's an "Undecided #2" option, DeMint is picking up 17% of the Black Vote using simple math.

All four of the polls in the database so far have been done in conjunction with a poll done for the Gubernatorial race.  Two of those were DeMint v. Rawl polls when it seemed obvious that Rawl would be the Democratic nominee. Even before Greene won the primary it was so obvious that DeMint was going to win, so that refutes your thesis.

Since this is a Likely Voter poll, DeMint's percentage of Black support may be due to a decrease in Black Democrats planning on voting in this race.

I'll give you a hint, a LOT less than in 2008.
