A quick scan (which be bver wrog as I', tired at the oment and need to sleep) shows more votes counted so far in rural parishs with large black populations than in the whiter ones.

FWIW, there will be more Democratic voters in blacker rural parishes, too.

Nora calls Louisiana for Obama

Oh Nora you are so beautiful. Your beauty transcends poltiics. Your ravishing demeanor is what made my night - not Obama's victories

Why is there only one vote in Garfield county? Does it only get one delegate to the county convention or something (and in that case what a roudy convention that would be.)

then again it is 100% Obama so I guess I am fine with that.

I think they may have omitted a zero.  They have ten delegates.

Judging on its neighbor Columbia, 10-0 is not out of the realm of possibility.

Ha Jesus, remember when you bet your precinct would be stronger for Obama than mine?

Yes!! Cry Cry

It only had 16 people so it's a pretty small sample... Was yours the entire caucus location or just your single precinct?

Anyway, I don't really remember the split that well, hold on...

We had:
14 whites: 11 Obama, 3 Clinton
2 blacks: 1 Obama, 1 Clinton

8 men: 7 Obama, 1 Clinton
8 women: 5 Obama, 3 Clinton

Anyway, I was the tally clerk. I got to count the votes, haha.

So 20-0 Obama, right?

Haha. Smiley

It was just my precinct. But you didn't have to actually attend the caucus to vote at it, you could just vote and leave. So the Obama campaign brought in hordes of college kids who only voted for Obama and left. Hence the FAR higher turnout and margins for Obama.

I was just at an emo show (GREAT show), so checking this out made my night. In about an hour I'll be driving off to ANOTHER show at the same place but I'm glad I got here in time.

I meant precincts counted (or reporting or whatever).

Haven't read through the whole thread, so maybe this has already been mentioned, but Chuck Todd on MSNBC just said it was looking like Obama would win the Virgin Islands.

Obama wasn't supposed to win DE, CT, or MO. He won all three.

Yea, Obama won the USVI

Garfield County has like 1200 people in total, so I wouldn't be surprised if only a couple dozen or so people caucused there.

Demographically that's no shocker.

What I have to wonder is how exactly Hillary is going to be able to spin three losses tonight, two of them with her losing by over 30%.

She started pre-spin earlier today before the voting even happened.

Blacks and white people with time on Saturdays aren't real people. I thought Clinton had made that perfectly clear.

Pre-spin won't do much - I doubt her spin before the results took into account a beating this bad.

Not even vaguely educated ones.

Maybe they were looking at American Samoa or something, but you are aware of what the racial make-up of the Virgin Islands is, right?

Also, stop saying Hillary!.  Really.  Please.  I'm an Obama delegate and you're even annoying the piss out of me.

Some of the parish results really do look odd. Assumption parish for one.
