Verdict has been reached.

I'm optimistic. An acquittal wouldn't happen this quickly and it can't be a hung jury this soon either.

Verdict at 4:30 EST!! With a verdict this soon I bet he's guilty of 2nd degree murder

Brace for impact y'all, and stay out of the inner cities if you can.

He's definitely going to be found guilty of something I'd have to think. Question is just which ones hold. The 3rd degree murder at least is such a weird charge that it's very hard to predict.

Not nearly as bad as Waters, but why?

Because he didn't speak until after the jury deliberated.

Still leaning towards manslaughter which I believe will be the least prison time if convicted.

Obviously won't be enough to stop rioting (which will happen either way), but it's better than nothing I suppose.

Jury was sequestered, so there isn't any chance of tainting the jury here. Still arguably not an advisable thing to comment at this point, though.

I'm assuming a conviction on 3rd degree and manslaughter charges, but not 2nd degree

Yeah, it sure as heck won't be a hung jury, which is good. It's hard to imagine him not being convicted of manslaughter at least.

When the OJ verdict came back after a day, everyone assumed it must be a guilty verdict if it was reached so quickly. There's really no way to know what the verdict is.

What time do you think we'll find out?

I saw the opposite where they were saying that a quick verdict is good for the defense but the fact they looked at Alan Park testimony is good for the prosecution

He is 10000% being found guilty if they’re done already.

Former Hennepin County Public Defender on MSNBC agrees. She even thinks he’ll be found guilty on all charges.

There's no way all the jurors have voted this quick to acquit on 2nd degree. I bet he's guilty of all 3.

I hope he's guilty on all counts and that they sentence him to the max.

I'm not ruling out an immediate hung jury, simply because in a case like this, a deadlocked jury could get violent very quickly. But I don't think so. You're not getting that video out of people's minds. Everyone watched him murder Floyd slowly on camera. Everyone saw the look on his face. If they managed to avoid getting a hardcore racist on the jury, he's guilty as hell.

I do think that with the speed the 3rd degree - despite the weirdness - is also more likely to be a conviction than not. Not going to make any predictions about the 2nd degree as I think that either way makes reasonable sense to be decided this fast.

I am not a fan of punitive justice, but given the thousands, nay hundreds of thousands incarcerated to 'send a message' on the most trivial of matters, the police given their catalogue of behaviour needs to be 'sent a message'. So let the whole rotten system come down hard.

They have a verdict, so it’s not a hung jury.

I have always been leaning towards the 3rd degree murder but with a verdict this quick it seems like they're going to throw the book at him so I'm thinking it will end up being the 2nd degree.
