I like how the PLQ is leading in a majority of the ridings while losing the popular vote by 5%. Tongue

Most of the votes currently in are from Iles-de-la-Madeleine, where 25/48 polls are reporting.

Haha! The PQ is currently leading in Riviere-du-Loup.

At least they can say they won a poll. I wonder if they'll win any others?

Crushing victory for the PQ in Iles-de-la-Madeleine, much larger than 2003. Probably doesn't have much meaning for the rest of the night, though; I bet the Magdalen Islands are just pro-incumbent.

While still being in third in the popular vote. Now that would shake up the system.

The ADQ is only 0.02% short of second place in the PV now.

Scratch that, the ADQ is in second place in the PV.

Tight race in Mercier. QS could take it. Charest is currently trailing in his own riding.

It's beginning to look like the ADQ may have beaten the PQ into third place.

Charest is currently trailing in his own riding.

Curiously CBC has an article up just now which says the following:

Liberal Leader Jean Charest has been re-elected in his Sherbrooke riding in the Eastern Townships for the third time after a difficult campaign that took his party by surprise.

Charest defended his seat with Huh per cent of the popular vote, successfully fighting off efforts from Parti Québécois candidate Claude Forgues, who took ?? of the popular vote, and Action Démocratique du Québec neophyte Michel Dumont.

Dumont is currently president of Injustice Quebec, the province's advocacy group for the wrongfully convicted. He made an impressive political debut, grabbing Huh per cent of the popular vote.

They must know something not on their election site because Charest is trailing by nearly 2% there.

EDIT: They seem to have retracted their article.

Bellwether Cremazie is an extremely close race between the PLQ and PQ.
