I haven't read this entire thread but I am wondering if he would be the first openly gay person to be expelled from Congress, which in itself would be newsworthy, especially considering that he is a Republican (and a strong Trump supporter, as well).

The majority of Republicans didn't want to lose a House seat.
Perhaps that is why they voted the way that they did, but who really knows.
