A lot of these categories overlap.  I like Nate Silver's "five-ring circus" to show how they do.  Essentially, the top row has moderates on the left, which overlap with establishment, which overlaps with social conservatives (but not moderates).  Then, you have Tea Partiers below where the establishment and social conservatives meet (so you can be any combination of those three, including all or none), and you have libertarians just to the left of the Tea Party, overlapping with moderates, the establishment, and the Tea Party, but not social conservatives.  I think the sweet spot is where the social conservatives, Tea Party, and the establishment all overlap.
