Is New York City mayor Bill de Blasio, progressive Democrat, who will win reelection next month in November 2017 despite corruption charges against him, would he be presidential material if he decided to run for president in 2020?

I think de Blasio is a good guy, just don't see him being presidential material.

No.  The fact that he left NYC after the shooting of a cop to go protest in Hamburg shows this.

No, because big city mayors do not get nominated directly to the Presidency. Never mind that the Mayor of Los Angeles or New York City has bigger responsibilities than the Governor of a small state. He needs to be elected Governor or to the US Senate first. He has time.

By the way -- I think that in their day, either Richard Lugar (Mayor of Indianapolis, then US Senator) and George Voinovich (Mayor of Cleveland, then Governor of Ohio, then a US Senator) been elected President, he would have been the best President since at least Kennedy.  Both were elected Mayor as Republicans in Democratic-leaning cities and got good marks for such.

Why business did he have in Germany?

I think he will be viewed as an establishment figure who would probably struggle to win over Bernie Sanders supporters.

I wasn't sure what you meant.

Does he have the background and experience needed to be a credible Presidential candidate?  Yes, I think so.

Is he a guy I'd vote for?  No.

lmao. Blasio is like a male Hilary. And would probably have the same negatives as her nationally if he ran.
