He might have run for President in 2008, and he might have done well in Iowa, but I don't see him doing well anywhere else.

He probably stays on as Majority leader until 2010, when he loses re-election (probably in a rematch with Thune)

Honestly, if Thune loses twice, he would've been a spent political force. A different Republican would win the primary (and most likely the general.)

Matt Michels or Larry Pressler seems most likely.
