The quote, if accurate, isn't worse than one that can be used for Bob Byrd: "...he used to think the Klan were ok until he realized he didn't need them to get elected anymore/realized it hurt his political career."

But whereas Byrd has worked ever since to make up for that, Sessions has not.

He's better than at least 70 other senators (not to say that that means he's an FF).

Sessions said that quote was a joke, and we have no reason to think otherwise, so I think that's unfair.

That said, my opinion on this man is obvious

Yes but Bob Byrd's real passion is working for the "white ns."

I'm extremely confident that Robert Byrd is nothing close to racist anymore.

I'm extremely confident that Bob Byrd is in his own world now so he probably doesn't remember what he truly believes.

Human piece of trash.

The simple fact that he was elected tells us all we need to know about Alabama.

HP.

I'm just glad there are conservative, southern, Republicans who aren't awful.  I really respect Thad Cochrane, Johnny Isakson, Richard Burr and Kay Bailey Hutchison...even if I don't agree with them on very much.  These are people who seem to define themselves on the basis of who and what they love...rather than on the basis of who and what they hate.

Did Sessions do something lately to raise hackles? Oh yes, he said he would have a problem voting for a homo to be on SCOTUS. Sad.

It's because he just became the Ranking Member of the Judiciary Committee.

^^

That's the main reason the liberal blogosphere is raising the hackles.  The homosexual thing is what pissed me off but even liberal websites and the homosexual media aren't picking up on how outrageous it is.

Jesus Christ.  There is no difference in remarks like that and racist remarks.

Jeff Sessions is what happens when Alabama is allowed to make these types of decisions by itself.

He did stand with 80% of Americans against the 2007 immigration bill and stood up to both parties leadership when they tried to shut him and his fellow FF's out of the debate and have debate be btw Dem Kennedy and then Republican Arlen Specter, both supported the bill. I am glad he is in the Senate and I think Americans owe him a debt of gratitude for breaking with the elites on this one important issue and siding with the vast majority Americans who, may not all have agreed with his efforts, agreed on the need to defeat that monstrousity.

Why should a homosexual serve on the Supreme Court?  They obviously don't know what's right for themselves; why should they be issuing decisions that will affect millions of Americans?  A queer justice will also have a personal interest in having gay marriage legalized, making them more likely to legislate from the bench.

You really are one MASSIVE...
