Though it pains me immensely to say it, I'd have to say Michael Steele

There is a danger that turnout among Maryland's African American Democrats might be supressed or worse still cross over to Steele, mistakingly thinking because he's like them on the outside, he must be on the inside Roll Eyes

In New Jersey, however, I think the Democratic machine will be so powerful come November 7, that Kean is the least likely despite Menendez' flaws

definitely kean jr.  id rate his chances about 50-50.

i must be completely honest.  i know i have endorsed for cardin for the seat in maryland.  BUT id have a hard time voting against steele now if i were a maryland voter.  im afraid the republicans are going to need every possible seat if they hope to hang on to the majority.  so, im looking at the bigger picture.

so, in sum, i believe cardin would make a better senator.  but the republican majority may rest on this seat.

Kean has the better shot.  I hope they both win though.

Maryland voted for Ehrlich and Steele already, and even voted against a Kennedy to do so. New Jersey has been very reliable in breaking the hearts of GOP voters in the state.

Unfortunately, Kean does, though Maryland would be better off than Jersey if Steele won.

I think Maryland Republicans would be better off than Jersey Republicans, but the state would be getting a legislatively inexperienced party hack who would vote significantly to the right of where most Marylanders are.

Kean, easily. Has Steele ever came within the MoE of a poll (outside of SUSA)?

True, true.  By the way, nice signature.  Smiley
