If I am the Big Ten, I first kick out Maryland and Rutgers. Sorry, it just not working out. I know that is not likely in reality, but it is what I would do.

Then I call Texas and Oklahoma to see if we can nab them before its too late, with a promise of adding regional partners if they join.

Next team I call of course is Notre Dame as one final Hail Mary attempt to get them to join.

Then perhaps I'll give UNC and UVA a chance.

Then I fill out the remaining spots to add current/former Big 12 teams in this order: Kansas, Missouri, Colorado, Iowa State, West Virginia, Oklahoma State to get to 16.

I-N-I!!!!!

Went down to the game with the family yesterday! Was able to stay in the shade to stay as cool as possible. Felt fantastic to be among the first to welcome back college football as we love it, and finally SHUTTING UP the HATERS who all pegged Illinois as a 3-9 bottom feeder felt AMAZING. Illinois should hopefully be a much more competent program now having a proven, competent college football coach.

If you're a Michigan fan, then I'm sorry. But as a Spartan, it was an electric time to be in East Lansing, I spent some time at Cedar Villages for MSU's most famous extra curricular activities, and I'm thankful that the game wasn't at night because it would have been absolute chaos.

I think what made Saturday difficult for me was the combination of the terrible officiating having a direct impact on the outcome and Michigan State being able to close in the end of the game when Michigan just couldn't close the game out to save its life. If Michigan was clearly the better team from beginning to end, and the refs did what they did, I would be screaming that Michigan was the better team and we got absolutely robbed. While if the refs did their job and Michigan State was clearly the better team, I'd just have to tip my cap. Instead, I have to feel like crap that Michigan choked away a huge win, AND feel like the refs absolutely screwed us over.

I have always been one to defend Harbaugh and point to some tough breaks not going his way. But I think its fair to start asking why do the breaks never seem to go his / Michigan's way. Maybe its all bad luck. But its starting to get really old losing these big games. If they go into the bowl game 10-2, then I guess you have to just accept that we are close, and to keep pressing ahead. But if they lose to that Penn State team and get obliterated by ohio, then you have to think we didn't accomplish anything this year.

Credit to Michigan State, that was as electric of a regular season college football atmosphere as I've ever seen. Other than the flipping of vehicles, which was gross vandalism, that was an elite college football scene.

I'm late to the party buy my oh my what a glorious effort, game, moment, and celebration it was seeing Michigan finally take down Ohio State. What is so cool is that it wasn't some fluke upset or a game where one side had nothing to play for. This was a game with the conference title and a trip to the playoff was on the line; winner take all. It meant so much for both sides, and for once Michigan brought it and was the better team from start to finish. I sure hope that we don't have to wait another 10 years, and that this rivalry can be more competitive year to year moving forward. Its so much better for college football that way. And good on Jim Harbaugh for finally proving the haters wrong. GO BLUE!!!!!

And hey, Illinois may not have made a bowl game this year, and there were some frustrating losses along the way, but Bielema seems to be doing some good stuff with this team. If we can raise the floor of the program, we could be a bowl team more often than not starting in 2023. I'm optimistic we won't be an automatic cellar dweller anymore, and that's progress!

Really disappointing to see Michigan crumble in the spotlight. I didn't necessarily expect them to win, but to not put up any fight was a bit of a surprise. But credit to Georgia. Not only were they (of course) way more talented, but the coaches were genius in their gameplan. They gave Hutchinson and Ojabo ZERO opportunity to make a big play in the pass rush. They made safe passes to the outside and executed a power running game and its all they needed to do.

Still a successful season. One to look back fondly on. But its a tough pill to swallow that after getting this close, its hard to imagine ever getting any closer. Maybe if they could recruit a top of the class QB, they could compete with the big dogs. But outside of that, aspiring to beating OSU and winning a Big Ten Championship is pretty much the ceiling.
