To be precise, he was a key figure in introducing the British welfare state before he became a wartime PM. Not that it diminishes his accomplishments in any way.

Lloyd George was a fascinating figure on both political and personal levels. In addition to his domestic achievements, he was a very effective wartime leader (after Asquith, who did a halfass job). There certain things I don't like about him, mostly relating to his post-powers years, but FF nonetheless.

Yes. In all fairness, the strange events of interwar politics kind of elude me, so I mainly judge him based on his time in government.
