Christ. Boebert might actually be going to prison.

Was there indication that it was her? I assumed Gosar and Brooks.
Same question I had. Was it her for sure? I also highly doubt the House would actually expel her.

So they will allow it to go back into effect the day before inauguration. What could possibly go wrong?

More Republicans are now freaking out and refusing to go through the medal detector.

Is there someone (media) showing this live?.
If so, where.

Forgive me because I'm sure this has been discussed already, but I'm not going to go through 167 pages.

I've been reading the book The American Century: A History of the United States since the 1890s by Walter LaFeber, Richard Polenberg and Nancy Woloch, 3rd edition, 1986.  This is a very lively and opinionated textbook, btw, it's not a stodgy textbook at all.

I happened to read this today (pages 398 and 399)

I don't know if anybody wants to discuss this further:

"In 1957 the (Supreme) Court dealt a crippling blow to the Smith Act in Yates vs U.S.  John Marshall Harlan, another Eisenhower appointee, ruled for the majority that the Smith Act's injunctions against conspiring to advocate the forcible overthrow of the government (sedition) applied to the advocacy of concrete actions but not abstract principles. If one did not call for direct revolutionary acts, one could lawfully urge the overthrow of the government. The Yates decision rendered further prosecutions under the Smith Act all but impossible."

I think we're about to find out!

Badger, I trust Santander's takes on this specific matter of guns in the Capitol over yours. Sorry to say it, but that's the plain truth.
No one man has all the answers. Not even me.

I'm not disputing Santander's point. I'm disputing yours. He makes one. You don't.

Yes break the echo chamber and contest the space and it will keep dropping.

Yes, and all it took was an act of incitement if not outright sedition by the President in order to do it.  Unamused

Random thought while looking up Boebert's info while trying to see if it was her, I found out her son's name is Kaydon. Why am I not surprised?

Edit: Her husband was arrested for exposing himself to a minor too. Wtf? Also why am I not surprised?

In what way? Is there any significance to the name?

Furthermore, what's this about breaking the echo chamber in the first place? Even after, as noted, incitement if not outright sedition, Trump still is approved of by almost 80% of Republicans!

Proving again that the Republican party is disgusting.

The -aiden (well sound) names are just kind of stereotypical tacky white names that you’d think someone like her would bestow upon a kid.

I get what you're saying now, and it's what I suspected. And to think that white people like to get on us for the names that we give our children. The names of white children nowadays can oftentimes be very bizarre or unusual, to put it mildly.

Also, names like Tanner, Colton, Wyatt, Cody, Logan, etc.

No offense to any of you who have one of these names lol.

Two people at my job are named Logan, although one of them is actually Hispanic (or perhaps mixed). But I think it's only a matter of time before we get a member of Congress who has one of these names, if we haven't already. In fact, one could argue that Madison Cawthorn meets this definition-he is, after all, the first member of Congress to have been born in the 1990s, and that is around the time such names became more common.

You mean Ryleigh, Shar-lit, Olivya, Ema, Heylee, Mollie, Madylyn, Lylly

It’s all about the atrocious spellings of names that have been normal in the past.

That and the -aidens on the boys side as have been mentioned.

RKO General was forced out of the tv and radio business for crimes that pale in comparison to what much of modern speech radio has enabled.

A sampling of the corporate response to the Traitor Tot's fascism:

Quote
Facebook, Snapchat, and Twitter have blocked the president’s social-media accounts. Apple, Google, and Amazon have stopped hosting Parler, a social-media alternative that’s become popular among Trump devotees. The PGA has cut ties with Trump’s National Golf Course in New Jersey. Stripe has stopped processing payments for the Trump-campaign website. Reddit has banned the r/DonaldTrump subreddit, Twitch has disabled a streaming channel associated with him, Shopify has terminated stores affiliated with him, YouTube has announced that it will remove all channels that post videos questioning the outcome of the election, and TikTok and Pinterest are removing posts with hashtags like #stormthecapitol and #StoptheSteal. Meanwhile, several companies, including the chemical corporation Dow, have announced that they will not donate money to anyone who objected to the certification of the presidential vote.
https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2021/01/how-big-tech-impeached-donald-trump/617643/

It appears the Traitor Tot is in a death spiral.

Amazing to hear some of the sexist liberals in this thread demeaning a woman in a position of power  Roll Eyes What is this, the 1800s? You're just jealous that Boebert, a woman, ranks above you in our society-- admit it, this is about your sexist, misogynistic attitudes and not because of any legitimate issues you have with her policies. Oh my sweet summer children, who hurt you? Why are you letting Boebert live rent-free in your heads? Face it; you guys are on the wrong side of history and strong, capable young women like her are the future. You must be harboring some latent sexual fantasies about her feet (and no, I don't see any irony in jumping to this line of attack just because she's a woman). Let that sink in.
