If McAuliffe acts like Martha Coakley and says "Virginia is a Safe D state now, I don't need to campaign, I can just coast by D generic....no...

This race is Likely D/Lean D

Youngkin is rich like McAuliffe and is trying to get the Black vote, the Virginia GOP Lt. Gov. candidate is a Black conservative woman, Winsome Sears....

McAuliffe+9, but he should not rest on his laurels and he should not allow the Clintons to campaign for him....maybe Biden or Harris or Obama, or maybe even AOC to consolidate the wings of the Democratic Party.....

McAuliffe should try to appeal to Southwest Virginia and get at least 70/30 or 60/40 out of there instead of 80/20....

McAuliffe will win but by 2-5 points.....

McAuliffe will be seen as a potential 2024/2028 contender because he is an attack dog and is partisan and he will use that in the debates....

That is what he is known for....

Dems should not take VA, NJ for granted, just like how Republicans shouldn't take FL or TX for granted...

McAuliffe can't be too cocky, he has to act like he is 10 points behind

McAuliffe wins, and he probably drags Ayala and Herring to victory

McAuliffe and Herring should bow out in 2025 and move on with their lives

Im worried that youngkin will win by 5 to 10 points and convince some Democratic state senators to become Republicans and flipping the state senate as well.

First thing they will do is abolish medicaid expansion and make abortion illegal.

I don't think VA Dems would switch...VA is a blue state, but McAuliffe is too cocky, he needs to play aggressive and bow out of politics in 2025 when his second term ends....

I am surprised George Allen did not run in 2021, this year...Allen would have been more electable than Youngkin...

Is that really an endorsement you wanna brag about though?

Although NOVA is a pretty neocon/neolib/Lincoln Project type area so maybe it actually helps Terry after all?

Only political junkies and mild people who know of politics know who Kristol is. Most Americans don't know who he is....

This is going to trigger some folks here.

Terry McAuliffe says $3.5T reconciliation price tag is 'too high'

Quote
National politics seeped into Tuesday night’s Virginia governor debate, with the candidates weighing in on the reconciliation price tag, the Biden administration’s withdrawal from Afghanistan and a potential 2024 presidential run for former President Donald Trump.

Former Democratic Gov. Terry McAuliffe said he thought $3.5 trillion was “too high” for the Democrats‘ reconciliation bill.

“They got to stop their little chitty-chat up there, and it is time for them to pass it. Let’s get this infrastructure bill passed for America,” McAuliffe said, slamming lawmakers for this week’s chaotic back-and-forth on how to get President Joe Biden’s infrastructure package through Congress.

Virginia is a blue state now, but blue state Republicans like Youngkin are trying to run a Hogan-type campaign, that is why Hogan endorsed Youngkin and I can expect Baker and Christie and Pataki to do the same, that is why Youngkin is zoning in on NOVA because a lot of Loudoun/Fairfax voters like Hogan and Pataki-type candidates, Youngkin reminds them of that "moderate" Republican....

McAuliffe is a center-left Democrat, so he is saying that, but the VA legislature will probably pass their own infrastructure bill in 2022

This should be a local campaign, no national politics

Would former Senator and Governor George Allen have won if he ran this year?
