I really think Lisa Murkowski's best bet would be to forgo the Republican primary and announce she is running as an independent, and will still caucus with the Republicans if she wins.  She probably has a better chance of winning a 3 way race as an independent than winning a Republican primary.

If she does that she loses the backing of the NRSC
