No, Manchin made it very clear that he isn't for that, monetary policy and Judges and Cabinet members can be put thru with 51 votes and Reconciliation, but not Statehood and immigration reform

The modern Republican party has no interest in governing it only exists to oppose. Even when they control all 3 branches. And for some reason every couple of years Democrats forget that and believe that Republicans will work for them and then they don't.

So I predict Manchin, Sinema, and any other Democrats against removing the fillibuster will soon be in favor of it as soon as they get tired of the likes of Cruz, Hawley, Paul, Cotton, Lee, and the rest using it for their 15 minutes of fame.

Tax policy and Cabinet and Judges can all be passed thru Reconciliation and 51 votes, they don't need to get rid of the Fillibuster as of now unless Statehood or immigration reform is passed by the House

The Rs in 2017 couldn't pass thru Reconciliation Skinney repeal of ACA, due to fact McCain, Murkowski and Collins wee against it and they didn't have enough votes, and Rs had a 52)48 Senate

Statehood and immigration reform isn't happening until after the 2022 Election, when WI, PA status is determined as well as GA and NC. The Rs after the insurrection and the Twitter ban did themselves no go in helping them capture the Majority, major banks have promised to stop donations

Chuck Schumer is not stupid.  Do you honestly think the Democrats would eliminate the filibuster knowing full well that it will come back to bite them the next time they are in the minority?

When Ds do eliminate the Filibuster, they intend on getting PR and DC Statehood, that's the whole purpose of getting rid of the Fillibuster to make the Rs a permanent minority

Once the Fillibuster is gone it's not coming back, just like the Judiciary Filibuster, it never came back.
The Filibuster was used during Jim Crow to 🛑 stop Civil Rights legislation and stop to end slavery. It took Earl Warren in Brown to end Jim Crow

The Rs used it effectively to block Abe Fortas, it's days are numbered

As I said before once the Fillibuster ends, Statehood is enacted and it won't be coming back.

The Filibuster was used only to obstruct Civil Rights lights and Abe Fortas, but D's have to win 2022, Manchin isn't getting rid of the Fillibuster

If Democrats lose the senate in 2022, they should re-instate the filibuster in the lame duck.

So you are not in favor of fairness?  You support one set of rules for the Democrats when they are in control and another set of rules for the Republicans when they are in control?

Mcconnell blocked Merrick Garland when it was Obama's turn to have pick Scalias replacement, the D's are gonna eliminate the Filibuster

Then got Kennedy to retire and Trump got 3 Judges

Now, that the Rs are in the Minority again since 2010, now they want to make use of the Fillibuster again, after they blocked Obama's agenda, it never fails

...Yes? Pretty obvious they’re also betting on long-term Senate control with DC/PR.

They could very easily just change the Senate rules to remove filibusters on an issue by issue basis (e.g. for statehood votes), technically leaving it intact but effectively neutering it.

^This is pretty much what’s going to happen.
Lol Manchin won’t go for it.
The filibuster as it is now is safe, trust me.

Why do you keep saying this, he just said that he is open to adding more states, stop being a naysayer

The only way is to have a vote on it
