Opinion of Mike Bloomberg

Only dumbs care about Bloomberg's  "nanny state" policies. I'm a big fan of all he's done there; the soda size restriction in particular is a very innovative piece of public policy. I'm also a huge fan of his anti-gun initiatives. Unfortunately he's pretty neoliberal on economic matters, and his opposition to the sick leave bill is disgusting.

He's basically a combination of the worst aspects of both the left and the right (excluding socon policy obviously)

that exempted things like big gulps and starbucks coffee with more sugar. pretty obvious that had nothing to do with public health and everything to do with helping his friends in certain industries keep down their competition.

Bloomberg isn't the best politically (stop and frisk, etc) but he gets under the skin of the right people and you can't understate the importance of that. And as far as managing the city- he's been above average. Politics aside I like his independent style and firm approach.

All of the above, actually, plus his actions in evicting Occupy and his terrible education policy. Oh, and how he handled the bus driver's strike. Bloomberg is the very definition of everything I dislike in a politician. And his stupid attempt to raise the smoking age to 21.
