Those who believed Tara most likely weren't going to vote for Biden anyways. If they believed the allegations I don't see how they were going to vote for Biden.

But now that the neighbor admitted to basically changing their story to please Tara Reade kind of puts the nail in the coffin for me on this not being true.

I worry that despite the truth the damage has been done.
He’s fine. No real news outlet is paying this much mind bc it’s not holding up.

Read the Politico piece on Tara Reade's trail of lies and theft earlier today. My God what a piece of work. Anyone who believes this lying POS at this point is a partisan hack or dead-ender, butthurt bernie bro.

I think people who spend every waking moment on the internet are vastly overestimating what the electorate thinks of these allegations. The vast, vast majority rejects them.

Even the right-wing media has moved on to Obamagate nonsense.

Yeah I find it pretty interesting that in just the past 3 weeks, right-wing media has pushed "China created the virus in a lab", "Spygate", and "Obamagate" in fairly rapid succession, almost as if they know Trump is losing and are throwing everything at the wall in the hope that something sticks, but even they haven't really touched the Tara Reade allegation.

Yeah, there was a NYTimes article that discussed the GOP doing internal polling to see which attacks would hurt Biden. They tried 20, and none of them worked.

They're in a tough position. They know the best way to get Trump to win is to make people dislike Biden more, since they're not gonna make anyone like Trump. If the election is a referendum on Trump, Biden wins. If it's a "choice between Biden and Trump", Trump has a better shot. But the GOP also can't really seem to hurt Biden's favorables. So they're sort of stuck.

At this point, they’re just trying to throw stuff at the wall to see what’s sticking but nothing is. They know there’s no defending Trump on the merits.

I think they would have used this more if it hadn't proven to be so easily debunked. Now it's too unbelievable and it just forces people to think about Trump's admitted assault of women. It's a losing issue, especially after the recent revelations, plus Trump's supporters are mostly men and the kind of men that support Trump don't want to hear about women's issues.

Also, they did use it.  It was wall-to-wall on Fox the entire weekend of April 26.

What’s been weird is that lately fox & other right wing media outlets have been more focused on attacking Pelosi, Schumer, & Adam Schiff (their main boogeyman at the moment due to the role he played in the impeachment proceedings, and probably also the fact that he represents Hollywood and is one of (((THEM))) rather than attacking Biden.

They want the taint the entire democrat brand by trying it to its most divisive members.

The Dems tainted the primary election anyways by endorsing Biden before ST, so that Bernie purposely lose and now we have the Reade scandal. After the fact, both sides play dirty politics

While I'm still not a fan of framing this story around Ford/Kavanaugh, it's still a milestone that mainstream sources are finally writing articles debunking this nonsense. This story is over.

Reade is lying again. She literally said in the original article that Trumps team contacted her. Now her lawyer is saying it didn't happen.

https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2020/may/17/joe-biden-gambles-women-wont-believe-tara-reade/

“Regarding the incident, he said it didn’t happen, but if there are future records that are unresolved that refute that, then he is going to have to do damage control, and suburban women are not the kind of demographic that you want to do damage control on.”

and more interestingly:

“The same Democrats and media who relentlessly and maliciously attacked Justice Kavanaugh’s character now spend their days avoiding any talk about the sexual assault allegation leveled against Biden,” said Sarah Matthews, a Trump campaign spokeswoman. “It draws a very clear double standard as to how Christine Blasey Ford was treated versus Tara Reade.”

You know Its getting bad for Trump and Tara Reade when some on here are desperate enough to use washingtontimes as a credible source for information when that same website wrote this back in 2017

https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2017/nov/26/case-roy-moore/

If this is the best you guys got than maybe this Tara saga truly is over...

In related articles there is this fantastic headline: "Marc A. Thiessen: Biden gave Christine Blasey Ford the ‘benefit of the doubt.’ Why not Tara Reade?"

Why not Marc? What could the reason be?

Tara Reade lawyer sends ‘cease and desist’ letter to critic

Quote
[...]

After receiving the letter Sunday, Hummer hired an attorney who now accuses Reade’s lawyers of trying to silence his client.

“I find it very ironic that her attorney is trying to bully witnesses when he is claiming that is what’s happening to her in the Joe Biden case,” Hummer’s attorney, Pat Harris told POLITICO. “The last thing in the world that Tara Reade wants to do is meet Lynn Hummer in the courtroom.

[...]

Harris said his client isn’t going to back down.

“We’ll be more than happy to provide actual physical evidence that backs up Ms. Hummer’s story,” Harris said. “All Reade has is a lawyer trying to bully my client.”

So she has gone from saying "all woman should have their voice heard without fear of retaliation" to sending a lawyer to keep this woman from talking....

Moves like this does not help her at all and only further damages her credibility by trying to silence this person. Her lawyer is not doing her any favors by choosing to go after this woman
