Cruz should have done the principled thing and stuck by his guns on "vote your conscience" and never endorsed the snake oil salesman from New York.

As a former resident of the great state of Texas, there are lines that should not be crossed.

Although, I disagree with Rick Perry and George W. on many fundamental policy positions, they always recognized and stood up for Tejanos and Latino-Americans in Texas when it came to scapegoating and racist stereotypes. Most statewide Republican political leaders are well aware of the amazing contributions that Tejanos and Latinos have made in Texas, from the Revolution against Santa Ana to the present day.

Cruz virtually sold his soul to the devil when he endorsed Trump, and I really hopes he walks his recent endorsement back, as a man of God and faith and for the future of Texas and America that is inclusive for people of all backgrounds in pursuit of the American Dream.

Again, not a big Cruz supporter but his opinion still counts in Texas and the endorsement of Trump shortly before the recent revelations could well have sealed his political career, and he won't be buried in hallowed ground next to Sam Houston in Huntsville Texas even metaphorically when "all the eyes of Texas are upon you".

I wonder why Ted Cruz is being so malleable. He isn't running for senate.

I'm pretty sure Trump didn't promise him some plush cabinet post either

He is in 2018 and the sharks are circling to primary him.

He has no conviction and by selling out the proud history of Texas, even in modern era politics where George W. , Rick Perry and many others whom stood up for the Tejanos and Mexican-Americans, has exposed himself to be yet another craven politician.

Yes he is worried about getting primaried, but at this point he could well lose the Senate seat in the GE to a decent Democratic challenger, by showing that he has no spine when it comes for standing up to all decency in a state that is proud of the contributions of Latinos from the Texas Revolution to the present day.

He has become a disgrace to Texas in pursuit of his own national ambitions, and going down the tracks on the Trump train might help him win the primary but flame out in the GE, while also solidifying Tejano/Latino attitudes in Texas regarding "their place" within the Republican Party.
